Auburn Football Quasquicentennial?

Over on Twitter, I typically get a lot of questions in regards to Auburn's uniforms, people wondering where to purchase a specific piece of Auburn merchandise, and even some questions about gameday for the different sports on campus. Recently, I had a question posed to me that I hadn't thought of whatsoever beforehand - Will Auburn celebrate the 125th year of football like they did the 100th anniversary?

New Batting Helmets for Baseball and Softball

One team is looking to defend it's conference championship and run to the final game of the season. The other is looking to fight out of the bottom of the conference. Auburn Softball started the new season last week with a win over #1 Oklahoma. Auburn Baseball's year begins this weekend, as the young team looks to gain some needed experience. Two teams on rather different paths, but each sporting some new looks to the new year.

Auburn Wears Nickname for First Time Ever

The Auburn men's basketball team has debuted a new uniform for the first home conference game of the season for the second time in three years. Back in 2015, the Tigers wore Under Armour's newest template and design with brackets on the shorts and jerseys, and tiger stripes sublimated on the majority of the uniform. Thursday night would see the debut of Auburn's third different uniform in two years.

Auburn's Sugar Bowl Aesthetic History

2017 Sugar Bowl Auburn Oklahoma history

For the first time in twelve years, the Auburn Tigers will be heading back to the Super Dome in New Orleans. This will mark the sixth time the Tigers have played in the Sugar Bowl, tied for the most bowl appearances with the Gator Bowl. Auburn's Sugar Bowl history is nothing short of a deep and entertaining rabbit hole.

The Dark Ages of Auburn Basketball Uniforms

This site was originally set up to document the uniform history of Auburn basketball. As I went through and documented the many different uniforms of the program, the 2000-2004 period was always difficult to nail down. The biggest issue was that, for some reason, photos and videos are few and far between, let alone those in good quality. So trying to track down evidence of the uniforms and date them was extremely difficult. Now that I've acquired basketball media guides and Glomeratas (Auburn's yearbook) from the time, it's been a little easier.

Auburn's Two Tiger Stripe Uniforms

Remember when the 2015 Auburn Basketball team broke out alternate uniforms for part of the season? Turns out that wasn't the first time the Tigers had done so. Recently I started diving back into the basketball uniform research that I've always enjoyed, trying to tackle the late 1990s to mid 2000s time period that has always been difficult to research. With media guides and Glomeratas by my side, I have nailed most of it down, but there was a secondary issue that came up.

New 2016 Basketball Uniforms

For the third time in three years, the Auburn men's basketball team will be sporting new uniforms. The women's team will also be wearing new uniforms this upcoming season. Let's take a look at both sets.

SEC Honors Graduate Student-Athletes

Over the weekend, many of the SEC football teams made a minor adjustment to their uniforms. What started by one team at the beginning of the season has spread to a handful. Now, it's easier than ever to spot a player that has already completed their degree.

The Vest in the Business

Gus Malzahn took over the head coaching job at Auburn in 2013. Not long after he started his head coaching tenure on the Plains, Malzahn established his own coaching wardrobe. The sixth game of the 2013 season, the homecoming game, was the first time Gus broke out his now infamous sweater vest. The BCS National Championship Game that year set the Auburn world on fire when Malzahn emerged from the tunnel wearing a Mike Ditka inspired vest. Sweater vest sales in and around Auburn soon skyrocketed and Under Armour even released a similarly styled vest for Gus to wear the following season.

New Compression Sleeves

College football is finally back in full force. The first week of games were great for a fan's standpoint, but not so for the SEC and the seven conference teams that lost their opening game. Even with Auburn's loss to Clemson, there's a lot to discuss, most of which you can find on other sites across the web. Here at the AUD, there's a few aesthetic-related items to discuss, like always. But there's one piece of equipment that caught my attention more than anything else - the arm compression sleeves.
